Logo and visual identity for a brand that is dedicated to inspiring kids to express themselves with confidence, through joyful accessories.

Goodlines were briefed to create a brand identity and set of visual guidelines for Calico Sun, including icon design, typography, photography/video direction and tone of voice. Most importantly, the assets we were to create would be a tool to empower the Calico Sun team, to make smart, on-brand decisions.

With the right mix of visual assets, colour palette, photography and tone of voice, Goodlines created a style guide that shows Calico’s core values; self expression, positivity, confidence and inclusivity, all with a dash of Californian Sun!

Mindful of how Calico Sun positioned themselves alongside parent Brand, Ooly. Set parameters of how the two brands might appear together in the same space.

The Calico Sun colour palette is bold, bright, fresh and fun. Its hero colours provide the backbone to the brand with their usage in the logotype, product packaging and website design. They are supported by the secondary palette which are used in iconography and instagram posts.

We set up clear guidelines for photography that sat alongside the brands core keywords; Fresh, Cool, Fun, Joyful, California & Casual.

Icons and patterns support photography in helping convey Calico Suns brand personality. They are good tools for use within Calico’s digital presence and the patterns come into their own mainly within the packaging. All patterns and icons use the Calico Sun colour palette and have a distinctly fresh, youthful and fun vibe!
